FEBRUARY 2023

< 1 Minute Read

To all those who provided feedback on the mess that was last week’s blog post, my sincerest thanks. To those who took a turn wading through every post and cranny on my under-development website, bless you. To everyone else who took the time to read my latest posts, as well as my maiden entry, Something to Write About, I have two things to say: thank you, of course, and sorry for the growing pains. I realized too late that the uploaded version of Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar was not the one I had proofed. I’ll do better next time.

Speaking of improvements, here are some of the things I’m learning from you.

  • Talk less, narrate more. Your stories tell your story. Let them speak for themselves and you. Check.
  • Write less. Some of your posts, especially the multi-part ones, are too long. Check.
  • About your “thick” writing style. Don’t abandon it yet. Just give me time to pour through it. Still digesting that one.
  • When will we get to the modern era? Good question.

This week’s post, Faucets, begins in the modern era and, in its way, winds up there. It’s about faucets. In writing it, I tried to keep the above comments and questions in mind. But it’s still kinda long. Bear with me as Thanks to your feedback; I continue to learn this new writing genre.

To those who have just joined me, Indirections in Changefulness is my recently inaugurated personal and professional retrospective on how we change, as experienced over 40 years of working with individuals and institutions in transition. Come for the weekly stories. Come back for the developing one.

And please leave feedback, either on the posts themselves or by replying to this email.

As always, if you have enough to fill your inbox without my unsolicited entries, that’s also good feedback.

Cheers!

Scott
